Singer songwriter, composer and guitar player, Branko Galoic was born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia Croatia in 1973. He grew up in a small town called Ivanic
Grad where he picked up guitar at the age of 17. He is a self- taught musician. His talent for music was spotted in the local community of musicians
where he also formed his first band. Right from the beginning he combined rock with traditional Balkan influences.
In the year 2000 he moved to Amsterdam, the Netherlands and started from scratch again. A few years later, he recorded his first record, Above the Roofs,
which was released internationally and received great reviews in the European Press. (Album of the week Independent and one of the 100 best records of 2006
by Jazzism magazine, the Netherlands) Now he’s presenting his second album entiteled Skakavac (Grasshopper). True to his Balkan roots his music is inspired
by the traditional and gypsy music from ex-Yugoslavia but at the same time especially due to the influence of the many musicians from all over the world,
which he met in Amsterdam and often played all through the years his music is able to communicate with many different styles. Blending Balkans sound with klezmer,
jazz, rock, rap as well as Latin and South American music, Branko has created his own unique sound.
